WEEK 20 FEELS:

Last night was my cousin's wedding, so over the past week there has been many events leading up to the big day. It was so nice having family and old friends in town to help celebrate. So, a little wedding inspired... here are my WEEK 20 FEELS:

Photo Time:
This is a snap from last night of me and my four sisters! Yes - there are five of us! We always have too much fun when we are together!

1+1 = My Fave Combos:
Flower bouquets + cute packaging. Because the wedding fell on Mother's Day, at the end of the night they had a wrapping station with tissue paper, so you could make a bouquet using the the centrepiece flowers to bring home for your Mama! 

Fashion Finds: 
Lately, I've been obsessing over small delicate stacking rings. I don't wear much jewelry (practically nothing) except my wedding rings and bands. I love adding to my collection, usually it's for a special occasion or a purchase while travelling (great souvineir and no worries about fitting it into a suitcase!) 

Who you should be following: 
@viacalligraphy - Sylvia is a creative director by day and a letterer by night ... and a very talented one as you can see! Her calligraphy is absolutely stunning, her bullet journaling is to die for, and her overall aesthetic is perfection. She leads workshops (which I'm still hoping to attend one day) and came up with the #thejustmarriedjacket project.

WEEK 19 FEELS:

This week was on the quieter side for me, which I generally don't love. Most people tell me they wish they had a "quieter" week but honestly, sometimes slow quieter weeks are the hardest. Having said that, I did take some time to sit back and reflect and have some "me" time. What are some of my goals? What makes me happy? What do I love to do? ... So here are some of the things I have been thinking about. Here are my WEEK 19 FEELS:

What I’m Pinning - Visual Inspiration:
I love plants. Lots and lots of plants. They make me happy by bringing some of nature's outdoors inside the home. Unfortunately, I have a lot of trouble keeping my plants alive. I blame it half on me but half on the fact that we leave our blinds closed when we are not home (we are on the main floor and people can stare right in if we don't) and the plants therefore miss the sunshine! Goal = to create a plant jungle and become a plant lady by getting better at keeping my plants alive!

1+1 = My Fave Combos:
Ceramic plates + splatter paint - how amazing do they look? The retro splatter on modern ceramics... I dig it!

I Made It:
Here is some of my most recent editorial work for Chatelaine Magazine May/June 2017 issue. I not only love it because of how lemony-fresh it is but also because the cover concept was my idea! I had this vision in my head and I made it work and I am super proud :)

What's On My Coffee Table: 
Places to Go People to See by Kate Spade is currently on my coffee table. I remember dying for a Kate Spade purse when I was a tween.... then Kate Spade sort of disappeared until about five years ago when they totally made a comeback. This book is screams cool. It is super eclectic, made up of quotes, neat collections (my fave is the cocktail stirrers), neon accents, and vintage travel photos. It completely makes you want to hop on a plane (in your best outfit!) 
"I haven't been everywhere but it's on my list" - Susan Sontag ... sums it up pretty well! #rmreads

It is okay to take a break... even if you don't need it. When life gives you some extra time, use it!

WEEK 18 FEELS

In a couple weeks, a group of girlfriends and I are going to Las Vegas to celebrate our 30th birthdays! We have spent some time this week planning our adventures, so naturally I have had Vegas on my mind. Here are some of my WEEK 18 FEELS:

What I'm Pinning - Visual Inspiration:
The city of neon lights! Can't wait to see all the bright signs and I will definitely be visiting the Neon Boneyard Museum.

See It:
Apparently I can see flamingos in Vegas! The Flamingo Hotel has a FREE Wildlife Habitat with Flamingo Island. Can't wait to gawk at the mesmerizing pink birds! They are so fascinating and weird.

Fashion Finds: 
So many great bathers to choose from... Now if only I looked like the models from these photos. Bathing suit shopping is the WORST (right up there with jeans shopping!) - anyone else with me? Either way ... pool parties here I come!

What's Cookin':
One week into my thirties (so much cake and candy), Vegas and summer just around the corner (see above bathing suits), a quiet work week coming up (wah wah) - I've been taking some time gathering some new healthier recipes to try.  This one is on the top of my list! Hmm.. I don't think peaches are in season quite yet. May need to save this one!

WEEK 17 FEELS

This past week has been a funny one... lots of ups and downs and highs and lows. To take my mind off of some of the craziness, I decided I am focusing only on things that make me happy! Here are my WEEK 17 FEELS:

What I’m Pinning - Visual Inspiration:
Holographic everything. I'm loving this retro holographic trend thing that seems to be going on. I don't think I have it in me to rock that outfit ... but I think the bag is pretty badass. Also, would totally get a holographic mani! Maybe for my Vegas trip in a few weeks? Hmm! 

1+1 = My Fave Combos:
Pastel Rainbow vs. Grid Action. It sort of reminds me of All Sorts liquorice (so pretty but so yuck) in a weird way. I love how randomly awesome and magical the 3D Dinosaur Grid Art is. It has a unicorn vibe (which is great but unicorns are so overdone right now) but it’s dinosaurs! WHAAAT. Cotton candy coloured toy dinos playing with lipstick. Who comes up with this stuff? (I wish I did).

WEEK 16 FEELS

Next week I am turning 30. Yes, I said it 30. The big 3-0. Sometimes I can't believe it, sometimes I am so excited but other times I just don't know what to think. I know not everyone loves to have a party, but I do.... because the way I think about it is that you need to celebrate life. Celebrate the little things, celebrate the big things. It doesn't have to be extravagant but simply acknowledging special occasions and times in life in some way. 30 is a milestone and I am going to celebrate it! Here are my WEEK 16 FEELS:

What I’m Pinning - Visual Inspiration:
Cakes! Duh! It's my birthday so of course I'm dreaming about cake and lots of them. Ho rediculous is the four layer cake? Is that even possible?

Party Time - My Dream Party:
My dream party would include: a make-your-own caeser bar, a bagel bar, and lots of cookies. This is the inspireation for my #THIRTY Boozy Birthday Brunch this weekend.

THIS CAN BE BEAUTIFUL by Tiffany Pratt is currently on my coffee table. Tiffany is a rainbow dream. Her creativity is astounding. She literally makes magic out of everything she touches. She is also the Glitter Queen. In her book she pretty much convinces you that life's a colourful rainbow party!  #rmreads
